About the role
Polygon Group is strengthening its global sustainability team and is now recruiting a Group Environmental Engineer to drive the company’s environmental agenda across its 18 countries. In this newly established role, you will work closely with the Group Head of Sustainability and serve as the Group’s environmental expert. You will ensure high-quality GHG reporting and target setting, support reduction plans, translate environmental insights into practical actions, and help build strong environmental awareness. The role combines business mindset with hands-on execution and requires both analytical depth and strong stakeholder management skills. Main responsibility will be to lead & drive meaningful environmental efforts across the group and to perform CO₂e calculations on both corporate, service and project level.

Key responsibilites
- Establish models and calculate CO₂e on project, service and corporate level.
- Lead the Group’s annual Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations and energy reporting, including data collection, analytical review and final reporting.
- Develop, support and monitor Group environmental targets, KPIs and decarbonisation plans.
- Support local operations in preparing reduction plans, setting targets and implementing activities.
- Drive and follow up on practical reduction initiatives and business case calculations.
- Act as the Group’s expert in areas such as climate change, energy, circular economy, waste and pollution.
- Lead environmental risk and opportunity assessments, including climate-related risks.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and permits.
- Guide best practice within waste management, chemicals handling and material choices.
- Support future sustainability reporting requirements, including EU Taxonomy and CSRD/ESRS.
You will report to the Group Head of Sustainability.
Qualifications
We are looking for an environmental professional with 6–10 years of relevant experience and a solid academic foundation, ideally holding a Master of Science in Engineering with an environmental focus. You have proven expertise within GHG calculations (GHG Protocol), Life Cycle Assessments and Product Carbon Footprints, as well as experience in developing and implementing reduction plans. Strong skills in Excel are essential, and familiarity with Science Based Targets, ISO standards and Power BI is an advantage.
You are analytical, numerate and confident in managing complex data, yet pragmatic and able to prioritise effectively. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships and enjoy working hands-on to move initiatives forward. Experience from the service sector, consultancy, construction, real estate or facility management is valuable. Full professional proficiency in English is required.
