Spotify is looking for a new band member to join our Global Tax Team as an Indirect Tax Compliance Manager, based in Stockholm. In this role, you will be part of the Global Indirect Tax Team and report to the Indirect Tax Compliance Lead, playing a key role in ensuring that Spotify’s indirect tax compliance across international markets (excluding the US) runs smoothly.

About the role

You will have end‑to‑end responsibility for the day‑to‑day operational delivery of indirect tax compliance, in relation to the preparation and filing of indirect tax returns and the maintenance of related documentation. With a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and control, you will manage the compliance calendar, perform data and transaction checks, and ensure that filings are complete and correct. You will also be involved in monitoring changes in indirect tax rules and translating them into practical compliance actions, as well as contributing to the continuous improvement of compliance processes, including identifying opportunities for automation and new tools.

Working in a fast‑growing and dynamic environment, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Global tax team and partner with Finance and other internal stakeholders to secure timely and accurate inputs for filings, as well as to resolve day‑to‑day compliance questions. You will also coordinate with external compliance providers and support the wider Indirect Tax Compliance team to ensure consistent delivery and high quality. Above all, your work will have a real impact on how the world experiences audio.

Qualifications

You have a relevant academic degree in accounting, finance, or tax, combined with solid in-house experience in indirect tax compliance. You bring hands-on experience of multi-country indirect tax compliance and strong practical knowledge of VAT as applied in day-to-day filings. You are comfortable working with financial systems and reporting environments and have relevant accounting skills, including experience with reconciliations, underlying transactional data, and tools such as Excel and Google Sheets.

You are genuinely passionate about indirect tax compliance and enjoy owning the recurring compliance cycle, taking pride in getting the details right. With a continuous-improvement mindset, you are interested in tax technology, automation, and ways to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control. You communicate confidently and constructively across functions and levels and are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
